Abstract:
One of the most interesting developments in Java EE is the EJB 3
standard. A radical makeover turns EJB 3 into an entirely different
animal from its heavyweight predecessors. This talk is a gentle
introduction to the brave new world of EJB 3. The talk will cover:
  1. How EJB 3 simplifies enterprise development into writing
    annotation-driven POJOs.
  2. The new programming model for session and message driven beans.
  3. The Java Persistence API (JPA), the emerging standard for
    object-relational mapping.
  4. Some of the most innovative features added to EJB such as
dependency injection, intelligent defaults and interceptors.
7:30 pm Open Q&A
8:00 pm Meeting Adjournment
