Speaker: Bill Kratzer of Versatile Systems
Bill Kratzer is a Solutions Architect with Versatile Systems in
Mechanicsburg, PA. Bill has been doing software development
professionally for nearly 15 years, focusing the last 8 years on Java
development in both the JEE and JSE space. Some of Bill's recent clients
include: Computer Science Corporation, HSBC, GE Money, Citi Financial,
Astra Zeneca, Comcast, and Motorola.

Abstract:
You will be provided with a whirlwind tour of the free out-of-the-box tools
that are available to help trouble shoot application and performance
problems in the Sun Virtual Machine. The presentation will cover the
tools that come with the freely downloadable JVM from Sun, including
jconsole, jstat, jmap, jhat. Finally, you will see dtrace, a dynamic
tracing framework for Solaris, in action, which provides many JVM hooks.
