Shippensburg University's Computer Science Department will once again
sponsor a day long software engineering conference on April 27th. You can
find the details and registration information at
http://webspace.ship.edu/compsci/se_conf/index.html
The mission of this conference is to connect software developers from the
region so that they can share their challenges and experiences. This
communication should invigorate software development organizations and help
the region move to the forefront in software development methodologies.
This year's keynote speaker is Lee Devin, professor emeritus of theater at
Swarthmore an co-author of Artful Making: What Managers Need to Know About
How Artists Work. His focus on engineering ingenuity and innovation should
provide a good foundation to seed the discussions for the rest of the day.
Open Space Conference
We would like to invite everyone to participate in this year's conference.
Instead of asking for papers and scheduling the day around prepared
powerpoint presentations, this year the conference will be an open space
conference. This means that we will set the agenda in the morning based
on the interests of the attendees and the sessions will be interactive
discussions around the topic. Participation only requires that you be
passionate about quality software development practices and willing to share
your ideas and listen to others.
Stacia BroderickThe open space aspects of the conference will be facilitated
by Stacia Broderick, a leading Agile Coach with 14 years of experience in
manufacturing and software development.
Registration Information
Pre-registration is required. The day only costs $40 which includes lunch,
payable by cash or check on the day of the conference.
